14 May Acupuncture For Women’s Health Conditions
A huge amount of research has been conducted into the effectiveness of acupuncture when used in the treatment of women’s health conditions.
Findings from this research strongly suggest the use of acupuncture in this area offers many benefits, and that the treatment is safe to use and delivers excellent outcomes.
Depending on the health condition, acupuncture can be used as a standalone treatment to offer an additional benefit when a patient is undergoing tests or having a procedure, or is best deployed in conjunction with other modalities including education and advice, exercise and manual therapy.
The following are listed as conditions where acupuncture may benefit a patient:
- Incontinence – for both women and men
- Menopausal Symptoms
- Pelvic girdle pain
- Vulvar vestibulitis syndrome
- Hyperemesis/morning sickness
- Back/pelvic pain in pregnancy
- Polycystic ovary syndrome
- Infertility – for both women and men
