24 Aug It’s Good To Be Back!
Senior Physiotherapist and Pilates Instructor, Laura Woods talks about getting back to work, and how she kept busy during lockdown…
After 3 and a half months of lockdown, it’s a fantastic feeling to be back at Halo!
Practice has resumed, albeit with a few alterations.
Initial appointments are conducted virtually with the option to transfer to face-to-face sessions if appropriate, once patients have been triaged.
In line with current Covid Secure guidance, we are wearing PPE and patients are required to wear a face covering. We also have increased time slots between appointments to allow for all surfaces to be sanitised thoroughly.
Despite all of these changes, it’s just great to be back at Halo and providing physiotherapy treatment once again.
As well as offering Physiotherapy, our Online Pilates Classes have become very popular as a result of Covid restrictions.
There are lots of classes throughout the week. I take 2 classes on a Saturday morning. The first class at 9am is a challenging class for participants who are already familiar with Pilates. The beginner’s class at 10.15am is for people who are new to Pilates and covers the basic principles together with progressions of exercises.
We have received some great feedback about these classes. Find out more about them here
During lockdown, aside from home-schooling my daughters (which was far from easy!), I completed an assignment towards a Masters module in Manual Therapy which I am currently studying at Coventry University.
This involved late evenings at the laptop, but the hard work paid off and I achieved a First! I have a practical examination to complete, which will hopefully be in October and the module will be finished. I have learnt a lot during the module and it has without doubt been beneficial to my practice.
