Physiotherapy

At Halo Physio, the treatment you receive depends on your diagnosis and individual aims. You may have one, some or many of the following to aid your recovery. We are very hands-on therapists and prefer to use manual techniques over electrical equipment.

Mobilisations and Manipulation

These are small repetitive, oscillatory movements performed to regain loss of movement in any joint of the body.

Specific Soft Tissue Massage

This involves direct physical action on the soft tissues of the body with the aim of relaxing and relieving the muscle tension, increasing the blood circulation and lymph flow, increasing endorphins and strengthening the immune system.

Myofascial Release

This is a form of soft tissue massage that enables us to feel and slowly stretch into the body’s fascia network

Trigger Point Release

This provides relief from chronic muscle pain. It targets specific points within the muscle to promote flexibility of the body’s connection tissue.

Acupuncture

Physiotherapists use acupuncture as an integrated approach in the management of pain and inflammation. It involves inserting fine needles into specific points in the body to stimulate the body’s healing mechanism.

Tailored Exercise Programmes

Exercises are prescribed to focus on regaining movement, strength, stretching, addressing muscle imbalance and rehabilitation; the software programme we use enables us to print or email your exercises direct to you so there is never a worry in case you forget or misplace your exercise sheet.

Rehabilitation For All Surgeries

We are familiar in post-surgery protocols to ensure that we can help you recover from your surgery safely and effectively.

Taping

Tape is applied over a joint or muscle to offer extra support, re-educate better joint position or posture or to offload a joint or structure that is being put under strain.
